Send call and conversation insights to The Trade Desk to power ad measurement, optimization, and audience targeting.
This integration helps you measure ad performance — including attributing conversions to TV and display ad views and clicks — optimize ads for offline call conversions, and use those conversions for audience segmentation.
Step 1: Prepare your Trade Desk account
- Log in to Trade Desk, select Preferences, and scroll to First Party Data Credential to find your Advertiser ID.
- Go to the Universal Pixel tab and find the Tracking Tag ID for the event you want to bucket Invoca calls into — or create a new custom event if needed (the name must match exactly what’s configured in Trade Desk, including case and special characters).
- Note your Advertiser ID, Tracking Tag ID, and custom event name(s) — you’ll need them next.
- In the sidebar, click Integrations, then Manage Integrations, then the Trade Desk tile. If it’s “Ready to Integrate,” click Integrate; otherwise contact your Customer Success rep.
- Enter an Invoca Friendly Name, your Advertiser ID, and your Tracking Tag ID from Step 1.
Create an Action
- Enter a friendly name (for example, “The Trade Desk Invoca Calls” or “The Trade Desk [Signal Name]”).
- Optionally filter by Profile or Campaign.
- Under Triggered By, choose All Calls or Signal.
- Enter the Custom Event Name exactly as configured in Trade Desk.
- Set a Default Value as a fallback revenue amount — enter 0 if you don’t want one.
- Click Save. Repeat for each transaction type you want to report.
Invoca automatically passes the Tracking Tag ID, Advertiser ID, and Trade Desk ID (ttd_id) — no additional configuration needed for those.
Step 3: Capture the Trade Desk ID
- Click the gear icon, then Invoca Tags, and find your Tag.
- Open the Revision History tab and create a new draft.
- In the Advanced section, expand the Custom Code block and add the documented code snippet — it’s the same across all Invoca accounts (the
ttd_pid value is Invoca’s own partner ID, not something you need to change). Note: this code can’t be copied as-is without pairing it with a custom ID unique to your business, and the line return options; must appear only once in your custom code block.
- In the Attribution Table, find your Trade Desk ID Marketing Data field, set Data Source Type to JavaScript/Data Layer, and enter
window._TTDId as the Data Source Name.
- Test, then publish your Tag changes.
Step 4: Validate your integration
In Invoca: click Integrations, then Manage Integrations, then the Trade Desk tile, then the name of your Action. Review the Delivery Details chart (green = success, red = error); click Delivery History for individual request/response details.
In Trade Desk: go to the Data tab, select Universal or Image Pixel (matching your setup), and check Mappings for your Invoca event names and hit counts.
Build audiences using the integration
Beyond attributing calls to ad interactions, you can build suppression audiences (adding converted callers to avoid re-targeting them) or retargeting audiences (targeting callers more likely to convert). In the Data tab, go to Audiences, select Build Audience, and choose the event to trigger audience additions. Trade Desk needs event counts in the hundreds or more to optimize effectively.
