ChatGPT Ads: Integration Guide
Connect Invoca and your OpenAI ads manager account to report phone calls and call conversions from ChatGPT ads, for marketers who manage Invoca integrations.
Overview
Connecting Invoca and ChatGPT Ads lets you attribute phone calls and call conversions to ads served on ChatGPT, so you can see how your campaigns perform. Setup has three steps:
- Get your Pixel ID and Conversions API Key from your OpenAI ads manager account, and create Conversion Events.
- Set up the integration tile and Actions in Invoca.
- Update your Invoca Tag to capture the OpenAI Click ID and visitor identifiers.
This article covers Steps 1 and 2. Step 3, event validation, and common questions are in the companion article “ChatGPT Ads: Tag Setup, Validation, and FAQs.”
Before you begin
- Your Invoca Tag is deployed on your website.
- You have access to your OpenAI ads manager account.
- The ChatGPT Ads tile is enabled for your Invoca account. If the tile says Learn More, contact Invoca to enable access.
Step 1: Get your OpenAI Pixel ID and Conversions API Key
Collect the following from your OpenAI ads manager account:
- Pixel ID: Go to Tools > Conversions. If you do not have a pixel yet, create a Data Source for Web.
- Conversions API Key: Provision the key from the Tools > Conversions tab.
Create Conversion Events
Review the ChatGPT Ads supported events documentation to decide on the Event Names and Data Types to use for each Invoca call or Signal (a call outcome). Then create the events:
- In your OpenAI ads manager account, go to Tools > Conversions.
- Click Create > Conversion Events.
Note: At the time of publication, OpenAI supports optimizing only toward standard events, not custom events.
Step 2: Set up the integration in Invoca
With your credentials ready, connect your accounts in Invoca and create an Action for each event type you want to report.
Connect your ChatGPT Ads account
- In the Invoca sidebar, click Integrations, then click Manage Integrations.
- Click the ChatGPT Ads tile.
- Enter a friendly name to identify your ChatGPT Ads account setup.
- Enter your Pixel ID and Conversions API Key in the matching fields.
Create an Action for each event type
An Action sets which call transactions or Signals Invoca reports to ChatGPT Ads.
- Enter a friendly name for the Action. Include “Call” or the Signal name to keep Actions organized.
- (Optional) Select a Profile or Campaign from the drop-down menu to filter which calls Invoca sends.
- In the Triggered By drop-down menu, choose the transaction type:
- All Calls reports every phone call.
- Signal reports call outcomes. Choose a specific Signal from the sub-menu.
- Complete the required fields:
- Event Name: Enter a supported standard event value from the supported events list, or enter
custom.
- Data Type: Enter the data type that matches your Event Name. The same list shows the supported values.
- Custom Event Name: Complete this field only if your Event Name is
custom. Use only lowercase letters, numbers, underscores, or dashes.
- Click Save.
To report another transaction type, click +Add Action and choose the existing account.Last modified on October 30, 2026
