Connect Invoca to Google Ads by authorizing the integration, configuring which calls and Signals to send as conversions, and managing your ongoing settings. Before you begin: Choose an Invoca user with Administrative credentials to authenticate. We strongly recommend creating a dedicated Google Ads user with a unique email address for the integration, to protect against organizational turnover.
Part 1: Get your accounts ready to integrate
Authenticate with user credentials at the Admin access level for your Google Ads account. This enables a Data Manager connection between Invoca and Google Ads — a more secure and reliable connection than a Standard-level connection, which ties the integration to a specific Google Account instead. If you have multiple client accounts, integrate with the Google Ads manager or client account that actually manages your conversions. A Google Ads manager account can sit above a client account or another manager account, and can manage conversions for its child accounts — in that case, authenticate with credentials to the top-level manager account.Part 2: Authenticate the Google Ads app in Invoca
- Log in to your Invoca account. If integrating at the profile level, select your profile first — most customers integrate at the Network level even when integrating multiple Google Ads client accounts.
- In the sidebar, click Integrations, then Manage Integrations.
- Click the Google Ads tile, choose Integrate, then click Authorize with Google.
- If you’re logged into more than one Google Account, select the one to use, review the access request, and click Accept.
- Select the Google Ads account to integrate. If you have a Manager Account and want to integrate multiple client accounts, select the top-level Manager Account. If your credentials have Admin access, you’ll see a checkbox to use a Data Manager connection — this is strongly recommended, since it avoids issues from employee turnover or password resets.
- Wait for Invoca to sync accounts from Google Ads — click the Refresh link in the toast notification, or refresh your browser.
Part 3: Configure the Signals you want to send to Google Ads
From the Google Ads menu, click the + Add dropdown and choose a conversion type:- Calls — tracks calls from a landing page. Invoca creates one conversion action with a source of “Website (Import from clicks).” Calls from Call Assets aren’t included here since Google Ads tracks those natively through Google Forwarding Numbers.
- Add Signal — creates a conversion whenever a Signal is met. This creates two conversions: one for landing-page calls, one for call-extension calls.
- Paid Calls — for performance customers with affiliate campaigns, creates a conversion for calls marked “Paid” in Invoca at call time. Corrections applied after the call aren’t sent.
- Under Select Accounts to Integrate, choose the Google Ads Manager or Client accounts that manage your conversions. If an account doesn’t appear, select the account that manages its conversions instead — check the Overview tab’s Account Information panel to see whether an account is “Client” or “Manager Account” managed.
- Choose a Count Type: “Many Per Click” counts every report against the same click identifier (required if capturing wbraid/gbraid, and recommended for sale-type conversions); “One Per Click” counts the conversion once per click identifier (recommended for Calls and lead-type conversions).
- Optionally check Include in Automated Bidding for Signals you want Google to optimize toward — this sets the Action Optimization to “Primary” and requires a conversion-based bidding strategy in Google Ads to take effect. Leaving it unchecked sets it to “Secondary,” used for observation only.
- Choose an attribution model — Data Driven is recommended and the default.
- Choose a Category (Lead, Purchase/Sale, etc.).
- Enter a Conversion Window — the number of days after a click to track conversions for, up to 90.
- Enter a default revenue value as a fallback conversion value; a Signal’s own Invoca Revenue value overrides this default.
