Add direct promo numbers with regionally accurate local area codes, for use cases like offline marketing and Google call extensions.
When you add direct promo numbers to an Invoca campaign, you can choose between displaying local or toll-free numbers to your callers. This article walks through adding local phone numbers with regionally accurate area codes. Direct promo numbers aren’t shown dynamically to individual visitors, so they can’t gather personalized demographic or marketing data about callers. They’re best used for limited circumstances, such as offline marketing and Google call extensions.

Adding a local direct promo number

  1. Search for and select the campaign.
  2. Click the Direct Promo Numbers tab.
  3. Click + New Promo Number.
  4. In the Number Type menu, select the Local radio button.
  5. Add a Media Type and Description for how you plan to use this promo number.
  6. Specify the location to choose a number from: enter a city and state, zip code, or area code. Use the radius setting to limit results to phone numbers within a set distance of your target area’s center. Click Next.
  7. If your target area contains multiple area codes, you’ll see up to 10 options to choose from. Select the one you’d like and click Save.
Some area codes are in high demand and may have low or no availability — you’ll be notified before proceeding if that’s the case for your selection. If you use the Invoca for Google Ads integration, Google attempts to set the forwarding number to match the area code. If no matching number is available, a local number from your geographic region is used instead.
