Add a voice prompt before a call connects, using either an automated text-to-speech prompt or a pre-recorded audio file.
You can set up Invoca to play a spoken voice prompt to a caller before they connect to your destination. As part of a call treatment, you can create these prompts using either a pre-recorded file or an automated prompt through your account’s text-to-speech engine.

Setting up a voice prompt

  1. In your call treatment, add any node and check Play prompt first, if available.
  2. For an automated text-to-speech prompt, use the Prompt Voice menu to choose a voice and accent, then enter the text you want spoken in the prompt text box. Press the play button to preview it.
    • You can include punctuation — question marks, exclamation points, periods, commas, and ellipses — to change intonation or add pauses.
    • If a word is mispronounced, try spelling it phonetically instead.
  3. For a pre-recorded prompt, click Add prompt recording below the prompt text box. Upload a file from your computer, or click Select an existing recording to reuse a recording already in your account.
    • Invoca accepts WAV, AIFF, AIF, MP2, MP3, and AMR audio formats.
    • Include a script of your recording where prompted, for better accessibility and error prevention.
See “Call Treatments & IVR” for more on building the rest of your call treatment.
