If your account uses single sign-on (SSO), changing a user’s role from Manager to Super User may require your identity provider settings to be updated before Invoca can save the change.
Applies To
- User management
- Settings > Users
Symptoms
You try to change a user’s role from Manager to Super User (or another elevated role), but the Save button stays greyed out even after you select the new role.
Cause
This happens on accounts that use single sign-on (SSO) for authentication. When SSO is enabled, user roles are typically controlled by your identity provider (IdP) rather than directly in Invoca, so Invoca disables role changes made directly in the Invoca interface by default.
Resolution
- Contact Invoca Support and ask them to confirm whether role editing can be enabled for your SSO-configured account.
- Once enabled, you’ll be able to select the new role in Invoca, but the Save button will still be greyed out until the change is reflected in your identity provider.
- Work with your own IT or identity-management team to update the user’s role in your SSO configuration to match.
- After your SSO settings are updated, return to Invoca and save the role change.
