Restrict an Advertiser’s ability to create or edit campaigns by designating their account as Network Managed.
Account hierarchy background
Your Invoca account is organized into a hierarchy of account types, including the Network level, which has full visibility across your entire Invoca account, and the Advertiser level, which is used to manage and segment campaigns. Note that “Advertiser” and “Publisher” are customizable labels; your platform may use different names for these same account types.
What “Network Managed” changes
By default, an Advertiser-level user can create and edit their own campaigns. Marking an Advertiser as Network Managed turns off that ability, along with a few other changes to how that Advertiser’s campaigns work. You might want to do this when:
- You want to create a Syndicated Campaign, which lets Publishers send calls to campaigns from other networks.
- You manage the campaigns for this Advertiser yourself, including full control over Publisher payouts.
- You work with a separate organization and want its users to log in and view your Invoca campaigns and terms, without letting them create or edit campaigns.
Network-level users manage the campaigns and approve Publishers on behalf of Network Managed Advertisers, and may take a margin on the payout. A Network Managed Advertiser can see what it pays in to the network, but not what’s paid out to Publishers.
Prerequisites
- The Advertiser you want to manage must already exist in your network
Steps to designate an Advertiser as Network Managed
- Log in to your Invoca account. In the sidebar menu, click Settings. In the Advertisers section, use the dropdown menu to select the Advertiser you want to manage, then select Company Profile.
- Check the Network Managed checkbox.
- Optionally, check Can View Publisher Details to give this Advertiser visibility into the campaign’s Publisher information. If left unchecked, Publisher data is restricted to showing only the Publisher ID in reporting.
- Click Update to save your changes.
How this affects existing campaigns
Once an Advertiser is set to Network Managed:
- Its campaigns become available for Syndicated Promotion Campaigns.
- When creating a Publisher Promotion for this Advertiser, you’ll enter the Advertiser’s base and bonus payout amounts. This is the amount the network charges the Advertiser for each qualified call.
- If an Advertiser is not Network Managed, the option to select a Publisher Promotion isn’t available, so Publishers can’t join that Advertiser’s campaigns and won’t earn commissions on calls to it.
