Invoca’s Marketing Data feature captures information about your customers and call sources, using both standard and custom fields.
Your Invoca account can capture information about who your customers are and what sources are driving your phone calls, using the Marketing Data feature. Marketing Data comes in two varieties: standard fields, included in every Invoca account, and custom fields, which you create yourself. Standard fields cover the most common data points digital marketers need to capture about their customers. Custom fields let you define which data matters most to your business and capture it from a caller’s digital or offline journey.
NoteIf you have an older Invoca account, you might collect customer and attribution data using RingPool Parameters instead — see the RingPool Parameters section below.

Standard fields

Every Invoca account is pre-configured to capture these fields automatically once you deploy your Invoca Tag — no additional setup required: Once you’re capturing Marketing Data, you can view it in your Call Details and Custom Summary reports, or send it to another marketing app or system through your Invoca integrations. If you don’t want to capture a given parameter, you can remove it from your Invoca Tag configuration.

Custom fields

Need to capture data that doesn’t fit a standard field? With certain Invoca plans, you can create custom Marketing Data fields, defining which data is useful to your business and capturing it from a visitor’s browser session or offline marketing efforts. Each custom field acts as a container for a type of call data. Invoca has two methods of capturing that data:
  • Dynamic marketing data: Derived from your online marketing efforts. Captures personalized data about the phone calls you’re receiving and the people making them. Can capture data from a caller’s URL parameters, JavaScript data layer, or tracking cookies.
  • Static marketing data: Useful when you can’t use dynamic numbers, such as for offline marketing campaigns. Tracks common information about all calls to a single promo number or campaign, and is manually assigned by you.
If you need to change a Marketing Data field once it’s created, see Editing Marketing Data Fields. You can also import marketing attribution data captured in another system using file upload.

Applying your Marketing Data to your business

After building your Marketing Data Dictionary and using it to capture data from your calls, the final step is putting that data to use. Most commonly, you can pass Marketing Data to another system using an integration or a webhook. You can also view reports based on your Marketing Data using Custom Summary reports, or route calls to different call centers based on the data you capture, such as caller location or intended destination.

RingPool Parameters (legacy)

For performance marketers, as well as some older Invoca accounts, you might capture customer data through your RingPools instead of your Invoca Tag. This marketing data is captured at the campaign level using your RingPool. To create, edit, or change a RingPool parameter, go to Campaigns, select the relevant campaign, click the RingPools tab, then select the Parameters column for your RingPool.
