If a configured Smart Alert never fires, the most common cause is that its trigger condition is only fulfilled after the call has already started.

Symptoms

You’ve configured a Smart Alert, but when calls meet the alert’s conditions, no alert email is sent.

Cause

Smart Alerts only evaluate conditions that are present at the start of a call. If your alert depends on a condition that’s fulfilled later in or after the call — for example, a condition based on a signal file that’s uploaded after the call has already ended — the alert can’t detect it, because that data doesn’t exist yet at call start.

Resolution

  1. Open the Smart Alert’s configuration and review which signal or condition it’s monitoring.
  2. Confirm whether that condition is normally fulfilled at the start of the call, or only later (such as through a follow-up signal-file upload).
  3. If the condition is only fulfilled after the call starts, choose a different signal that is present at call start, or use a different Invoca notification method suited to post-call data.
