Learn what each action does, how to open and configure an action, and when to end a call or record a callback.
Note: The AI Voice Agent is part of Invoca’s AI Agents and may need to be enabled on your account. If you don’t see Agent Studio in the left menu, contact your account team.

Before you begin

You need an agent with at least one intent in its Voice workflow. Have the phone numbers of the teams you’ll transfer callers to ready. The info fields and Signals you can choose come from your profile, so check that the ones you need are there.

How actions work

Each segment in the Voice workflow has one action. To open it, go to the Definition tab, switch to Table view, and select the action next to the segment. Every Action panel has:
  • Action: a dropdown with the six actions. Changing it replaces the instruction fields with the ones for the new action.
  • Description: a read-only summary of what the action does.
  • Instructions: what the agent should say and do in this segment. The label depends on the action.
  • Signal (optional): the Signal that fires when the action completes.
  • What To Collect (optional): the info fields the agent asks for and saves.
Select Apply to save your changes to the draft, or Cancel to discard them. Undo, at the top of the workflow, reverses recent edits. Callers only get your changes after you select Go Live.

The six actions

Every action also has the optional Signal and What To Collect settings.

End the call or record a callback

  • Use End Call when the caller’s need is met and there’s no further step. Keep the closing line short, warm, and specific to the branch.
  • Use Request Callback when the caller prefers a call back or no one can take the call. Don’t promise a callback time unless a team has committed to it.
