Invoca searches use columns defined as either attributes or Measures, which determine which chart types and results are available.
Searches in Invoca use columns that are defined as either attributes or Measures. Invoca identifies search columns (sales, customer_name, total_sale) as one or the other, and the columns you choose affect your search results — several chart types expect a certain number of attributes and a certain number of Measures.

Attributes

Attributes are primarily text or date values, and make up the x-axis of your chart most of the time. In terms of a person, examples of attributes include name, eye color, occupation, and address.

Measures

Measures are numeric values you can do math on with meaningful results, and you’ll most likely find them on the y-axis of your chart. In terms of a person, examples of Measures include age, height, and weight.

Query details

During or after completing a search, you can see how Invoca built the Dashboard Tile. Click Query details on the right side of the screen to open the Query details panel. This panel shows the Measures Invoca computed for each combination of attributes. Select Query visualizer to see search filters and how tables were linked and used. Select Query SQL to see the SQL query Invoca used to create the Dashboard Tile.
