This explains why marketing data captured by the Invoca Tag can appear blank in call reporting, and how to investigate a specific call.

Before you begin

You’ll need the Call Record ID for the call you’re investigating.

Check the Media Type

Look up the call and check its Media Type to see whether the number is set to Pooling or static, and note which one applies.

If the Media Type is Pooling

Check the promo number description for that call.
  • If it’s labeled “overflow,” marketing data won’t be collected for that call — overflow calls don’t collect marketing data through the Invoca Tag.
  • If the Invoca ID field is blank, the call is Out of Session, meaning blank marketing data is expected.

If the Media Type isn’t Pooling

Review the applied marketing data for the dialed Invoca number to confirm a value is present at the Profile, Campaign, or Phone Number level. If a value is present, check whether it was set before or after the call occurred — a value set after the call won’t apply retroactively.

What this tells you

If any of the conditions above are true for your call, that explains why Invoca didn’t collect a marketing data value for it.
