See Space for the decided part of this page.
Known issues
Divergences are where code and design intent disagree; open decisions are where nothing
has been decided yet. Neither is resolvable by inference.
Gaps in the current rules
- The specification stops at
spacing-9; code ships spacing-0 through spacing-10. The
specification also records no definition for any spacing step, so which gap each step is
for is undecided — already recorded above.
spacing-0 (0rem) and spacing-none (0px) are duplicates. Both ship, neither is
marked deprecated. This page recommends spacing-none on the grounds that it reads as a
decision, but that is an inference, not a documented policy — already recorded above.
--titan-spacing-compact-3 (0.375rem) exists as a public CSS custom property but is
not a token on any access surface. Treat it as private; it is not documented as such.
- A second, older 8px spacing unit is still exposed alongside the scale. Its
relationship to the
spacing-* steps is unstated, and its multiplier behavior does not
correspond to any step on this page.
Constraints Titan should enforce
These are real, currently-true rules. Nothing in code stops a builder from violating them today — each is a placeholder for a guardrail Titan hasn’t built, not a decision still being made.
