Add custom attributes to an Okta user profile so you can pass parameters Invoca requires — like first name, last name, and phone number — that aren’t available in Okta’s base attribute set.
Before you begin: The Okta tile for Invoca must already be created — see Configure SSO with Okta — before you can map these parameters.
Overview
Add custom attributes to an Okta user profile to define attributes that aren’t available in the base attribute set. This lets you pass required parameters — first name, last name, phone number — in the Invoca SSO/SAML integration.
Part 1: Add custom attributes to an Okta user profile
- In the Okta Admin Console, go to Directory > Profile Editor.
- Search for and select the SSO SAML app for Invoca.
- Click Add Attribute.
- Complete these fields:
- Data type: String
- Display name: A human-readable label to show in the UI
- Variable name: The attribute name referenced in mappings
- Description: A description of the attribute
- Click Save, or Save and Add Another to add more custom attributes.
Part 2: Map custom attributes to app attributes
- While still in the Profile Editor view with the app selected in the filters, click Mappings for the app and select Configure User Mappings if a list appears.
- Select Okta User to App to map the flow of attributes from Okta (the source) to the app (the target).
- Scroll through the attribute mappings and confirm the required attributes — indicated by the Okta or app user profile — are mapped. Use the dropdown to add attributes, or use expressions for concatenated or transformed values.
- Click Save Mappings, then Apply updates now.
Part 3: Finish the SSO/SAML configuration
