# Voice Signals: Setup

> Voice Signals detect keywords and phrases spoken on a call across all your IVRs, and are enabled by default for most campaigns.

## Get started

Voice Signal is available at the network or advertiser account level. If enabled, "Signal" is listed under the gear icon. Verify availability under the correct account type (Network vs. Advertiser). If unavailable, contact your account team or [support@invoca.com](mailto:support@invoca.com).

## Create your first Signal

Voice Signals are enabled by default for all campaigns, but controlled per-campaign. They work for all campaign types except syndicated campaigns. All words from all IVRs (interactive voice response systems) — including Invoca's own — are used when reporting.

To create a Voice Signal:

1. From the Signal page, click **New Signal**.
2. Enter a Signal name and up to 20 keywords or phrases that trigger it.
3. Select conditions for when the Signal is met — the number of words or phrases said, or the number of times said.
4. Identify whether it listens for the caller or the agent (for example, the agent must say "cat" AND "dog" at least once).
5. Select the campaigns this Signal applies to.
6. Click **Save**.

All calls for selected campaigns are evaluated against the Signal, and results appear in reporting. Signals can be deleted or modified at any time.

**Important:** acronyms like "HR" or "CEO" are best captured as "H.R." or "C.E.O." for phonetic accuracy.
