# Why Does the utm_source Value Show a URL, or Not Present?

> If Capture Organic Sources is enabled and UTM parameters are missing, Invoca fills in the referral domain instead — and out-of-session calls may show no UTM data at all.

<Note>
  Invoca is migrating Dashboards and Reports to the newer Insights & Analytics experience. See [Insights & Analytics: Getting Started Guide](/s/article/insights-analytics-getting-started-guide) to check out the new experience.

* UTM values

## Answer

If the "Capture Organic Sources" setting is enabled in your Invoca Tag configuration, then whenever UTM parameters are missing, `utm_medium` is set to "Organic" and `utm_source` is set to the referral domain instead.

Out-of-session calls may also show no UTM data. Repeat callers are a common example of an out-of-session call — such as a caller dialing back from a previously saved number. Invoca also identifies out-of-session calls by checking for duplicate Invoca Unique IDs, which are assigned to indicate a single web session.
