# How to Troubleshoot Marketing Data Not Populating a Field on the Lead, Account, Contact, Opportunity, or Case

> Walk through where the mapping breaks down between the Invoca Call Log and the corresponding Salesforce field.

**Applies to:** Salesforce Sales Cloud

## Objective

Understand why Invoca data isn't mapping to a field on the Lead, Account, Contact, Opportunity, or Case.

## Steps

1. Request a custom Invoca Call Log ID in Salesforce for the record where the mapping isn't working correctly.
2. In Invoca, verify whether a value is being captured for the corresponding field, and note the captured value.
3. In Invoca, verify whether data is being sent upon call start or at call end, and note which option is selected.
4. In Salesforce, review the custom Invoca Call Log ID to confirm whether Invoca successfully passed the captured value to the Salesforce field.
5. If the Invoca Call Log contains a value, check your Invoca Admin settings to confirm the field is configured to map to the corresponding field on the Lead:
   * If the Invoca Salesforce field name wasn't selected, the field on the Lead will be blank as expected.
   * If the field name was selected but the integration sends data upon call start, fields only available once the call ends — like duration — won't automatically map, so it's expected they'll be blank on the Lead.
