# Tips for Creating Custom Dimensions in GA4

> Naming rules to keep in mind when adding custom parameters or dimensions for your Invoca for GA4 integration.

## Tips

* Spaces in event names cause issues and can break the integration.
* Custom dimension names, on the other hand, can include spaces.
* Per GA4's own documentation, dimension names must be unique.
* Hyphens aren't allowed in dimension names — use underscores or spaces instead.
