# Set Up Your AI Voice Agent in Agent Studio

> Open your agent, set its name, brand, and rules, and add the knowledge it answers from.

**Open your agent, set its name, brand, and rules, and add the knowledge it answers from.**

> **Note:** The AI Voice Agent is part of Invoca's AI Agents and may need to be enabled on your account. If you don't see **Agent Studio** in the left menu, contact your account team.

## Before you begin

You need:

* Access to **Agent Studio** in the right Invoca profile. The agent belongs to a profile, and so do the campaigns, info fields, and Signals it uses.
* A plan for the main reasons people call and what should happen for each one.
* The phone numbers of the teams the agent will transfer callers to.
* The web pages or documents the agent should answer questions from.

## Open your agent

1. Log in to Invoca and check the **Profile** selected at the top of the page.
2. Select **Agent Studio** in the left menu and open your agent.

The agent's page has four areas: **Agent Settings**, **Knowledge Sources**, **AI Recommendations**, and **Agent Workflows**. The header shows the agent's status (Draft), its version, and the **Go Live** button.

## Set up Agent Settings

Agent Settings apply to every workflow and every call.

* **Agent Name:** an internal name used in your agent list and campaign setup. Callers never hear it, so make it easy to tell apart from similar agents, for example "Eva - Acme Telecom Voice Agent V2".
* **Brand Name:** the name the agent uses for itself and your company on calls, for example "As part of Acme Telecom's policies…". Use the short name callers know, spelled the way it's said.
* **Utilize Digital Journey Context in Conversations:** when on, the agent uses what Invoca knows about the caller's web journey, such as the last page they visited, to skip questions it can already answer.
* **Brand Conversation Rules (optional):** one-line rules that apply to every call, such as required disclosures, topics to avoid, or communication style.

**Profile** and **Default Actions** are shown on this page but can't be edited here.

### Write strong Brand Conversation Rules

* Keep each rule to one idea, in plain language and about 25 words or fewer.
* After any "never", say what to do instead: "Never quote a firm price; say a specialist will confirm exact pricing."
* Add only rules that apply to every caller. Put intent-specific behavior on the intent.
* Leave out placeholders such as "etc" or "xyz". The agent can't act on them.

## Add Knowledge Sources

Knowledge Sources are the web links and documents the agent can reference when answering questions. Answering from available knowledge is a default action for every agent.

1. Open **Knowledge Sources**.
2. Select **Upload Documents** or **Add Web Links**.
3. Check that each source shows a green status check.

Prefer specific pages, such as plans, coverage, and billing FAQs, over a single homepage. The **Refresh** column shows whether a source updates automatically. If it says **Off (manual only)**, the content only changes when someone refreshes it, so plan to do that after any change to your plans or pricing.
