# Selective Dashboard Filters

> Specify which Dashboard visualizations a Dashboard filter should apply to, rather than applying it to every visualization.

When you create or view a Dashboard, you may want to filter its visualizations to only show data relevant to your role — but you may not want that filter to apply to every visualization. For example, the head of sales in North America might want to filter most visualizations to North America sales data, while still comparing against an unfiltered *global quarterly sales* metric.

You can apply Dashboard filters to specific visualizations from the **Configure filters** modal. To learn more about Dashboard filters generally, see [Dashboard filters](/s/article/dashboard-filters).

## Configure selective filters

1. Navigate to the Dashboard you want to filter, or create a new one.
2. Add filters to the Dashboard.
3. Select the **More** menu icon at the top right, and select **Configure filters**.
4. In the **Configure filter** modal, the side menu lists every primary filter column for the Dashboard. Select the filter you want to configure, if there's more than one.
5. Scroll down to **Applicable to**. Select **All**, or choose only certain visualizations.
6. Select **Done**. Invoca applies the filter to the visualization(s) you specified.
