# Salesforce Managed Package: Invoca Admin Page Displays Invalid Field Error

> A Salesforce field referenced by the Invoca managed package was deprecated; remove the stale mapping records to clear the error.

This error occurs when a Salesforce field referenced by the Invoca managed package has been deprecated; removing the stale field references resolves it.

## Prerequisites

* Access to Salesforce Setup with permission to query and modify records using a data loader tool or the Developer Console
* Basic familiarity with SOQL queries

## Symptoms

The Invoca Admin page (the configuration screen included with the Invoca managed package) displays an "Invalid Field" error. If the invalid field is used for Lead-creation mapping, Lead creation may also stop working.

## Cause

This error occurs when a Salesforce field associated with the Invoca managed package has been deprecated (removed or changed) in Salesforce, but the Invoca package's configuration still references it. Common causes include:

* A third-party package was deprecated, but references to its fields remain in the Invoca package's configuration.
* A field used for Lead-creation or field-mapping on the Invoca Admin page wasn't disabled before the field itself was deprecated in Salesforce.

## Resolution

Use one of the two approaches below, depending on whether you want to check every mapped field or only those tied to a specific third-party package.

**Option 1: Check and remove mappings across all fields**

1. Using a data loader tool or the Salesforce Developer Console, run this query to list every field currently mapped in the Invoca package:

```sql theme={null}
SELECT Id, INVOCA_FOR_SF__API_Field_Label__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__API_Field_Name__c,
  INVOCA_FOR_SF__Configurable__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__Data_Type__c,
  INVOCA_FOR_SF__Default_Value__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__Field_Label__c,
  INVOCA_FOR_SF__Field_Name__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__Mapping_Type__c,
  INVOCA_FOR_SF__Object_Type__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__Required_Field__c,
  INVOCA_FOR_SF__Target_Object_Type__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__Update_Flag__c
FROM INVOCA_FOR_SF__Invoca_Conversion_Mapping__c
```

2. Identify any fields in the results that no longer exist in Salesforce, and delete those mapping records.
3. Open the Invoca Admin page and confirm it loads without an error.
4. Place a test call to confirm the Invoca package still works as expected.

**Option 2: Check mappings tied to a specific third-party package**

If you already know which third-party package was deprecated, narrow the query to that package's namespace. Replace `pi__` below with the relevant namespace (`pi__` is shown here only as an example — it's the namespace for Pardot):

```sql theme={null}
SELECT Id, INVOCA_FOR_SF__API_Field_Label__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__API_Field_Name__c,
  INVOCA_FOR_SF__Configurable__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__Data_Type__c,
  INVOCA_FOR_SF__Default_Value__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__Field_Label__c,
  INVOCA_FOR_SF__Field_Name__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__Mapping_Type__c,
  INVOCA_FOR_SF__Object_Type__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__Required_Field__c,
  INVOCA_FOR_SF__Target_Object_Type__c, INVOCA_FOR_SF__Update_Flag__c
FROM INVOCA_FOR_SF__Invoca_Conversion_Mapping__c
WHERE INVOCA_FOR_SF__Field_Name__c LIKE 'pi__%'
```

Then follow the same steps: delete any fields that no longer exist in Salesforce, reload the Invoca Admin page to confirm it works, and place a test call to verify.
