# Inconsistent Naming Convention for Marketing Data in Transactions Report

> If a Marketing Data value looks inconsistent between two exported reports — such as dashes appearing in one but not another — the cause is usually spreadsheet auto-formatting, not the underlying data.

<Note>
  Invoca is migrating Dashboards and Reports to the newer Insights & Analytics experience. See [Insights & Analytics: Getting Started Guide](/s/article/insights-analytics-getting-started-guide) to check out the new experience.
</Note>

## Symptoms

A Marketing Data or Invoca data value doesn't match what's displayed on the platform once exported. For example, a Campaign value might export without dashes one week, then with dashes the following week — causing mismatches when trying to match Transaction IDs or other values across reports.

## Cause

This is typically caused by spreadsheet formatting or import settings on export, not a change in the underlying Invoca data.

## Resolution

* **Adjust cell formatting** — select the affected cells or range and apply a consistent number or text format.
* **Disable AutoCorrect or AutoFormat** — some spreadsheet programs automatically reformat values on import or entry, which can introduce inconsistency.
* **Format data before importing** — if the data originally came from another system, format it there first, so it's recognized correctly once brought into your spreadsheet program.
