# How To Identify and Report Suspected Spam Calls

> Identify patterns of spam calls hitting your network and submit the data to Invoca Support for investigation.

## What to look for

Spam calls typically show up as a high volume of very short calls, often two seconds or under in duration, arriving on your network in a short period of time. These calls may hit your local numbers, your toll-free promo numbers, or a mix of both.

## Prerequisites

* Access to run call reports for your account
* The date range during which you noticed the suspected spam activity

## Steps to identify and report spam calls

1. Run a call report for the affected days, sort it by total duration, and note any very short calls, two seconds or under.
2. Check whether these short calls are hitting local promo numbers, toll-free promo numbers, or both.
3. Download the call report and remove any calls that aren't part of the suspected spam pattern, so the remaining data is focused on the calls in question.
4. Keep the "Phone Type" column in your report. It's useful for troubleshooting the source of the calls.
5. Submit the cleaned-up report to Invoca Support for investigation.

## Why this matters

Reporting spam call patterns helps reduce the total number of spam calls hitting your network over time, since Invoca Support can use the data you provide to investigate and take action.
