# Why Does Google Ads Show My Call Extension Phone Number as Unverified?

> This usually means Google hasn't yet verified a valid phone number for your account — try proving domain ownership through Google Search Console or your Google Ads/remarketing tag.

**Applies to:** Google Ads, network-level integration, profile-level integration

## Symptoms

A Google Call Extension shows as unverified even after linking Google Search Console.

## Cause

A valid phone number hasn't yet been verified for your account.

## Resolution

1. Connect with your Google representative first.
2. Prove ownership of the display URL domain by linking your Google Search Console and Google Ads accounts. You'll still need to update the phone number on the landing page.
3. Prove ownership of the display URL domain by adding your Google Ads conversion tracking tag or remarketing tag to the source code of the ad's landing page.
