# Error "Undefined Method 'empty' for Nil:NilClass" When Activating a Pending Campaign

> This error means the campaign is archived — edits can't be saved to an archived campaign until it's unarchived.

## Symptoms

The error "undefined method 'empty' for nil:NilClass" appears when trying to activate a pending campaign.

**Applies to:** Campaigns in "paused - pending" status.

## Cause

The campaign is archived. Edits can't be saved to an archived campaign.

## Resolution

Confirm the campaign isn't archived. Check the "All Campaigns" view in the Manage Campaigns section — the default view doesn't show archived campaigns. Unarchive the campaign, then try activating it again.
