# Commenting on Calls

> Add comments to a whole call or a specific transcript moment, with visibility set to everyone, specific mentioned users, or just yourself.

Comments can be added to entire calls or specific transcript events in the Invoca platform, with several visibility options available.

## Comment visibility by user

| Visibility | Description |
| :--------------- | :------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Everyone | Public comments are visible to all users in the network. |
| Mention Only (@) | Private comments are shared only between specified "@" users. |
| Only Me | Private comments are visible only to the individual user. |

Call comments are only visible at the network level.

## Benefits of using comments

Comments enhance collaboration and let users highlight specific aspects of a call, publicly or privately:

* **Collaboration:** create "Mention Only" or "@" comments to work with others on updating call scripts or improving customer communication strategies.
* **Personal notes:** create "Only Me" comments to mark specific transcript events or calls as reminders for future reference.
* **Phrase-spotting:** use "Everyone" comments to mark specific transcript events and update phrase-spotting capabilities.
* **Added visibility:** use "Everyone" comments to highlight moments of interest for others to see.

## Creating comments in Invoca

Access individual Call Details via the Call Review Console or Calls Report to create comments.

### Call Review Console

In the Call Review Console window, the Comments section is located in the right-hand column. Select **Call Comment** to create a call-level comment — this highlights the entire transcript. If you select an event listed in the transcript instead, you can create a comment for that specific event, which is highlighted for reference.

### Calls Report

To create a call-level comment that doesn't reference a specific transcript event, begin typing into the text box in the Calls Report window. Select the comment icon next to a transcript event to create a comment specific to that event — once created, the event is visible in the comment section as a point of reference.

## Filter capabilities

Comments can serve as filters. You can filter calls to only show ones with comments, only ones without comments, or comments from a specific user.

**In the Call Review Console Filters column:**

* **Has Comments:** calls with comments created by any user.
* **No Comments:** calls without any comments.
* **Comments by User:** calls with comments from specific users, including yourself.
* **User Mentions:** calls with comments where specific users are mentioned "@" by any user.

The Comments by User and User Mentions filters have a secondary menu listing all users who have created comments or been mentioned.

**In the Calls Report filters:**

* **Comments Made by Select User(s):** calls with comments from specific users, including yourself.
* **User(s) mentioned:** calls with comments where specific users are mentioned "@" by any user.
* **Comments Made by Anyone:** calls with comments created by any user.
* **No Comments Made:** calls without any comments.

The Comments Made by Select User(s) and User(s) mentioned filters have a secondary menu listing all users who have created comments or been mentioned.

## Private comments

Private comments are only shared between designated or specified users. The original creator of a comment is the only person who can control its visibility, and can switch between any of the permission levels above.

Mentions Only ("@") comments are visible only to the users mentioned or tagged in the comment, facilitating private discussion during call reviews. For example, if one user shares a private comment about a caller's need with a colleague using "@," only that colleague can view and respond to it.

Only Me comments are visible only to the individual user, letting you add notes, reminders, or save calls for yourself.
