# What Is the Character Limit for the "Check a Condition" Section of an IVR?

> The Check a Condition text area has a 400-character limit — for longer or more complex conditions, use a Signal instead.

**Applies to:** Call Treatment, IVR, Campaign

## Answer

The maximum character limit for the "Check a Condition" text area is 400 characters. You'll see an error message if you try to enter longer text.

If you need to combine multiple conditions, use a Signal with the "Signal met" option instead:

1. Create a Signal that evaluates the conditions you need.
2. In your IVR, select **Signal met** for "Add condition."
3. Choose the Signal you created in step 1.
